Derby County have secured the loan services of Sheffield United striker Jamie Ward for the rest of the season.

The 24-year old former Northern Ireland U21 international will come straight into Nigel Clough's squad for this weekend's clash with Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park, delighting the Rams boss.

"We've been on the hunt for a striker with pace who can be a real menace to opposition defences for some time," Clough told the club's official website.

"He can get about the pitch and he will provide a goal threat for us.

"He will bring a different dimension to our play which we've probably not had all season."
