Derby County are poised to secure the services of Darren Bent on a free transfer.

Bent joined Derby from Aston Villa on loan during the January transfer window and managed to impress by scoring 12 goals in 17 appearances despite the Rams' poor end to the season.

As a result, Derby had registered their interest in signing the striker on a permanent deal following the expiration of his contract with Villa and now according to the Derby Telegraph, the Championship side are on the verge of securing the services of the 31-year old.
