Derby County boss Billy Davies admits he needs a top class finisher if they're to beat the drop this season.
"We have not been ruthless enough in front of goal and that is my major cause for concern," he said.
"It is definite we need more firepower and so I am very, very keen to add to the squad in that area.
But Davies admitted the Rams would be unable to compete with the spending power of established Premier League giants such as Tottenham, who will provide the White Hart Lane opposition on Saturday.
Spurs currently lie bottom of the early season table after back-to-back defeats, while a host of star names remain on the injured list.
"A crisis at Spurs is it?" said Davies. "They have got a lot of injuries have they?
"Well, they still have Jermaine Jenas and they still have Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe and Darren Bent and a host of other players of that calibre.
"Spurs spent £16.5million on Darren Bent alone and we have spent something like £8million on five so that shows you the gulf which exists.
"The player who scored our goal at Wembley and got us a guaranteed £60million Premier League income for the season was Stephen Pearson, who cost us £750,000 from Celtic.
"What a signing he was, eh?"
