Derby County are considering a move for Rangers goalkeeper Roy Carroll.

BBC Sport says former Manchester United and West Ham keeper Carroll has played just one game for Rangers - a CIS Insurance Cup win over East Fife in September.

Ibrox manager Walter Smith would have Graeme Smith to provide cover for first choice Allan McGregor, if Carroll was allowed to move on.
