Derby boss McClaren not worrying about Aston Villa rumours

Derby County manager Steve McClaren insists he is not interested in the Aston Villa job.

The Premier League club sacked Paul Lambert on Wednesday and McClaren has been immediately linked with the vacant role.

However, the 53-year old has made it vehemently clear that he is not prepared to depart iPro Stadium with the third-placed Rams chasing promotion from the Championship.

"I have a job to do here and I'm solely focusing on trying to get Derby into the Premier League," said the former England, FC Twente, Wolfsburg and Nottingham Forest boss.

"We've got a very, very good chance and everything else is speculation. We've got 16 games to go and have a chance of achieving what we want to achieve and I'm not going to walk away from it."
