Aston Villa are stepping up their interest in Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Andres Guardado.
The Mirror says Villa had scouts at Deportivo's 3-1 win over Tenerife at the weekend and saw Mexican star Guardado score a spectacular goal.
Tottenham were also trailing the 23-year-old last season, and Deportivo La Coruna's financial problems may mean they look to cash in this summer.
