Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben has backed Manchester United youngster Memphis Depay to eventually come good in England.

Depay arrived at United from PSV Eindhoven in a £25million deal in the summer and given his exploits in the Dutch Eredivisie, there was understandably a lot of excitement surrounding his signing.

As it has turned out though, Depay has proven to be a huge flop at Old Trafford and there has even been speculation that United could cash in on the winger this summer.

Former Chelsea star Robben has analysed fellow Dutchman Depay's struggles at United this season and has backed the 22-year-old to show his true colours once he fully adapts to life in the Premier League.

Speaking to the Match of the Day magazine, Robben said: "He's a very talented player, but you can't underestimate how big a step it is up to the Premier League, and especially to a big club like Man United.

"He's still very young – you have to give him some time.

"The talent is there – he's got everything that he needs to be a success in England!"
