Departing Toronto coach Preki has swipe at Canadians

Outgoing Toronto FC head coach Preki has taken a parting shot at Canadian players following his sacking from the club.

The Yugoslavian-born former USA international was given his marching orders by Toronto for failing to qualify for the play-offs for the second season in a row and since his departure, some of his former players have spoken negatively about his rein at BMO Field.

Players of note who commented include captain Dwayne De Rosario and Designated Player Julian de Guzman but Preki has shunned their thoughts, basically saying they are worthless because they are Canadian.

"I don't need to elaborate on the things that De Rosario and De Guzman said," Preki told ESPN.

"You can see the work I've done with Chivas USA. It's a couple of Canadian guys making those comments. That's all I have to say about that."
