Denmark midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg knows they face Wales with former Tottenham teammate Gareth Bale at the top of his game.
Denmark meet Wales today in the Euro 2020 round of 16.
Bale played on-loan at Spurs last season from Real Madrid and Hojbjerg said: "In the last ten years, there may not have been many who have done what he has done. He has scored over 100 goals (105 in total) for Real Madrid.
"Class player, great guy and he is a leader in the way he plays. He takes his team with him and yes, one of the best players I have ever played with.
"I know how much Wales means to him, and I know how much tomorrow (Saturday) means to him.
"Of course I wish him the best - just not just tomorrow - but a great player and personality, and I can only take my hat off to his career."
The Dane added: "I think Wales are a really good team. They have some amazing players and Gareth is to me their best player.
"I see it as a very even match and we know it will be difficult."
