Denmark coach Morten Olsen hopes Nicklas Bendtner can find a place for himself in Arsenal's plans this season.
Olsen was disappointed his star striker couldn't get a move away before Monday's transfer deadline.
"Now I have not talked to Nick, but if Arsenal have stopped him, it is because the club itself will use him. Arsene Wenger is a sensible man and he can see that there is a need for a backup in the squad," said Olsen.
"We can only hope that he gets playing time. But it is far from certain, it is not enough for him to be a reserve. Nick has a physique where it is important that he plays games and is in fighting form."
