Clint Dempsey hopes to establish himself as a first-choice in Fulham manager Lawrie Sanchez's plans.

"The season didn't start out exactly how I wanted in terms of playing time," he said on the club's official website.

"But through working hard the coach gave me a chance and I was able to show that I could play."
