Fulham attacker Clint Dempsey has defended Bobby Zamora after his miss in defeat to Everton.

The result leaves Martin Jol's squad just one place off the relegation zone, but Dempsey refused to condemn Zamora.

"That's the way it goes," said the Texan winger.

"Sometimes they don't fall for you or go in as they should, and sometimes they do. Bobby does a lot for us. He gets the goals but sometimes you're just unlucky."
