USA national team boss Juergen Klinsmann has made it clear that Clint Dempsey's absence on Tuesday night was only precautionary.
The US skipper was withdrawn from the 2-0 friendly win over Azerbaijan just 10 minutes before kick-off because of groin tightness but Klinsmann insists there is no real problem with the star attacking midfielder.
"No it's not serious at all," Klinsmann told reporters.
"He had a little bit of pain yesterday already in training and he told me about it. And then in warm-up, he was just a little bit nervous about it.
"The players pretty much went on the edge and that's what we have to do. We have to prepare them for something bigger."
Mix Diskerud and Aron Johannsson scored late goals as the US tuned up for the World Cup with the first of their final three matches prior to departing for Brazil in early June.
