Spain saw off Ukraine in their Euro 2016 qualifier, but they were made to sweat as Iker Casillas made a string of second-half saves in their 1-0 win in Sevilla.
Alvaro Morata's 28th-minute goal proved the winner on a night when Spain enjoyed the vast majority of play, but the visitors had some of the best chances.
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque said: "We played well in the first half and created chances but we struggled to put them away.
"Later, in the second half we brought on Juanfran and Cazorla but still found it hard to score We dropped in intensity and allowed them to control the game. Our second half performance left a bad taste in the mouth. We've got to start improving."
