Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe is hoping for a long FA Cup run ahead of their tie with Fulham.
Sunderland were Capital One Cup finalists last season, and also reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup before Hull City ended their hopes of a return to Wembley for the semi-final.
But Defoe is hoping Sunderland can repeat their cup success now he is at the club.
"It's a special competition, I've always enjoyed FA Cup games," he said.
"We're looking forward to it and I think it's important that we win just for the confidence of the team."
