Stefan de Vrij hailed Inter Milan's unity for their derby win over AC Milan.

The defender scored in the 3-2 thriller.

“We reacted well as a team, fought hard and played very well between the lines in the first half, creating a lot of chances," De Vrij told Sky Sport Italia.

“We went too deep in the second half, Milan pressed us hard, but we managed to suffer for the victory and it's a wonderful feeling.

“It's not as if on Thursday (defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt) we didn't fight or show spirit, but tonight we had to defend the advantage and with Eintracht we went behind very early, so it was different.

“Tactically, we were tighter and more of a team this evening."
