De Sanctis eager to win trophy with Roma before retirement

AS Roma goalkeeper Morgan de Sanctis says he wants to win a trophy with the club before he retires.

De Sanctis, 38, celebrated his birthday this week.

"I settled in very quickly in Rome, this is my second year and we seem to have gone past that moment of difficulty," said De Sanctis.

"We are working to get back to the level we all expect. My rapport with the fans is excellent and one of reciprocal respect. I am direct and people appreciate me for that.

"As long as I wear the Roma jersey, I will give my all for this club. For this season and the next I am focused on doing well, because I care and promised myself to end my career in a happy and dignified manner.

"I'd like to lift a trophy with Roma and celebrate with the fans before I retire. I am 100 per cent sure that after I stop playing, I'll continue to live in Rome.

"For now, we must step up for the final 10 games of the season and not look too far into the future."
