Daniele de Rossi is edging closer to signing a new deal with AS Roma.

Corriere dello Sport says De Rossi all but confirmed he intends to stay with Roma when chatting with fans at a local restaurant.

Roma's board are willing to put aside €50 million to fund De Rossi's new contract.

The midfielder could still earn more abroad, where he is wanted by the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and PSG, but he wants to stay in Rome, the city where he has spent his entire life.
