Newcastle United forward Siem De Jong has suffered another injury setback ahead of the Premier League clash with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
The Dutch international has only just returned from a collapsed lung but didn't train this week due to a thigh problem.
Head coach John Carver said: "Siem has unfortunately got an issue with his thigh and he has not done a great deal of training this week. He is another one who has gone for a scan.
"He has got a problem there he won't be available this weekend."
De Jong arrived from Ajax last summer in a deal believed to be around £6million but has made only six appearances in an injury-hit debut season in English football.
