Lecce coach Gigi De Canio is a proud man after guiding the club to Serie A safety.
Serie A status was secured thanks to their 2-0 win away to local rivals Bari and Sampdoria's 2-1 home defeat against Palermo.
"We could not have asked for a better end to the season and I think it's important to note we secured our Serie A safety by playing good football," said the Coach who was nearly axed in January.
"Every team I have trained has always conceded quite a few goals, as it is my football philosophy to attack and take risks. I did it at Reggina, Siena and now Lecce. I enjoy my job and want to see a team that entertains the fans.
"We kept a cool head when everyone said we were done for. Sampdoria's defeat allowed us to celebrate a week early and Palermo showed they are great professionals by seeing the season through to the end.
"We knew it was going to be tough this season, but the trust I have in my lads and my work saw me through."
