DC United have added defender Lawson Vaughn to their playing roster.

The 25-year old joins from Chivas USA where he has been since 2006 and his addition will add plenty of depth to the United squad which has managed three shut-outs in their past four league matches.

United were able to place Greg Janicki on a disabled list to open up a space for Vaughn who has been on trial with the club for the past week after he was waived from Chivas in August.
