DC United are reportedly set to sign former Bolivia international Juan Manuel Pena.

The 37-year old defender retired from the game last year but has decided to continue his playing career and it seems almost certain that he will win a contract with the MLS club.

Pena spent most of his career in Spain with Valladolid, Villarreal and Celta Vigo after beginning his career in Bolivia with Blooming before moving to Colombia's Independiente Santa Fe .

United coach Curt Onalfo said that he 'is very technical and has provided leadership' during pre-season and is set to deploy in the centre of defence.
