DC United secure the services of goalkeeper Dykstra

DC United have announced the signing of goalkeeper Andre Dykstra.

The 26-year old has been training with the Washington club this pre-season and has impressed enough to win a MLS contract.

DC general manager Dave Kasper said he was thrilled to welcome the former Chicago Fire and Charleston Battery gloveman to the club.

"We are excited to have added another young goalkeeper who has a bright future in MLS," said Kasper.

"Andrew has gained valuable experience in the past two years as a professional and we look forward to his contributions to our club."
