DC United midfielder Danny Szetela is determined to regain his confidence now he is back on home soil.
The former Racing Santander and Brescia player has taken a step back in regards to the US national team since his move to Europe in 2007 but is determined to push for selection now he is back in familiar territory.
"Being in Europe alone wasn't going to help me," Szetela said after his DC United debut on the weekend.
"I felt the best way to get my confidence back up was to be back home near my family and friends, people I'm going to feel comfortable around.
"(US coach) Bob (Bradley) would probably say Europe is the place to be," he added. "As long as I work hard, Bob will see that and hopefully bring me in."
