DC United head coach Ben Olsen is determined to capture a quality striker during the MLS offseason.
The Washington club used the likes of Chris Pontius, Maicon Santos Hamdi Salihi and Nick DeLeon up front in 2012 but Olsen wants to add to that group with a big-name attacker for 2013 and beyond.
"I thought all our forwards gave us good moments this year," Olsen said. "But none of them had a real complete year from a playing, scoring and production standpoint.
"In the end, do we need a big-time forward? Yeah."
DC finished second on the Eastern Conference table behind Sporting Kanas City this season, scoring the second most goals in the section, before they were knocked out of the playoffs by New York Red Bull in the conference semi-final.
