Southampton midfielder Steven Davis says Ricki Lambert deserves an England call.

Lambert hit a wonder free kick for victory over Chelsea.

"I think he deserves a chance," said Davis. "He has shown a level of consistency this year that maybe some of the English strikers haven't.

"He has a lot more attributes than maybe people realise who watch him on a one-off occasion. Maybe he is seen as a big old fashioned centre-forward but he has good feet, holds the ball up well and he brings a lot of players into play."
