Darlow happy to bide time with Newcastle

Karl Darlow is more than happy to wait for his chance in the Newcastle United first team.

Darlow made his move from Nottingham Forest to Newcastle this summer but the goalkeeper is currently second choice at St. James' Park behind Tim Krul.

The Englishman did make his debut for Newcastle during their Capital One Cup victory over Northampton Town in midweek and he is now patiently waiting for another chance to impress for the first team.

Darlow told the Chronicle: "I'll just carry on doing what I am doing and if selected I will do my very best in each game I am selected. It was exciting to be picked for the game against Northampton.

"It was against my hometown club who are close to my heart so it was good to get out there and get a solid victory. We've moved on to the next round of the League Cup which is what everybody wanted."
