Dann eager to repay faith of Palace boss Pulis

Scott Dann is delighted with his first weeks at Crystal Palace.

The former Blackburn Rovers skipper admits manager Tony Pulis' persistence convinced him to move to Dann.

"It wasn't just a case of my deal taking so long - they had four or five players they wanted to get in and only a certain amount of people to get them done," he told the South London Press.

"It was a long day but worth it in the end. I'm looking forward to the next couple of months.

"Everyone wants to play in the Premier League and I'm no different. I've played there before and really enjoyed it. It was a chance to come back and play for a manager who did a lot to try and bring me to his club previously.

"That didn't happen. Birmingham needed money and needed to get people out but I don't know if they quite agreed a fee with Stoke. It was one of those things that come and then go in football. Now it has. I'm grateful and hopefully I can repay him."
