Daniel James delighted with impressive Man Utd debut

Daniel James was pleased with his debut for Manchester United in their friendly win at Perth Glory.

The Wales international played the majority of the first 45 minutes down the left wing before switching with Tahith Chong down the right for the final 10 minutes of the half and he spoke of his link-up play with left-back Ashley Young.

"There were quite a few times I got in behind, that's what we want to do, we want to try and get in behind the opposition not just play in front and that's what the gaffer has speaking to me a lot about doing that," James told MUTV after making his debut.

James also explained how he has already had conversations with United's full-backs over the relationships they can build.

"As soon as I came in I told the full backs my strengths and how I like to play. Youngy cut inside a lot and was playing me in quite a lot," James said. "That's important over the next few weeks to get that link up over the next few weeks to get the best out of them and the best out of me."
