Damani Ralph's NYRB trial over

New York Red Bull have confirmed the trial for Jamaican forward Damani Ralph is over.

The 29-year old was training with the Red Bulls during pre-season after a three-year hiatus away from the game and during that time, head coach Hans Backe was keen to keep him at the club, at least until mid-season.

But Ralph had struggled to overcome an injury so the New York club ended his trial which was confirmed by Backe.

"No, he's out,'' Backe said. "I talked to him. Because we could see he's limping, and the best thing I told him just to be fair try to find a team where he could play even if it's a lower division, just get some games and see how it works out.''

Ralph spent a few seasons with the Chicago Fire from 2003 until 2005 before moving to Russia to join Rubin Kazan where he finished up in 2007.
