Napoli striker Edinson Cavani is all set to move to Real Madrid at the end of the season. After Sport's revelation yesterday that Cavani had made clear to Real that a move to Madrid was a priority for him, Tuttosport says the Uruguay international was always president Florentino Perez's top striker target.
And the player's father, Luis, confirmed the feeling is mutual when speaking to the press only a few days ago.
"It would be the best possible scenario. Ideal for Edi. Let him play all the matches of Real Madrid.
"It's a team that has ten chances per game and this would be the perfect situation for him," said Cavani Snr.
Negotiations between the two clubs have moved quickly, with it suggested talks over a fee are now at an advanced stage. Real are willing to offer €50 million cash plus players in exchange for the centre-forward.
Cavani, meanwhile, will continue to publicly pledge his commitment to Napoli so not to upset local fans.
