The father of Mesut Ozil has revealed a rogue agent attempted to negotiate a deal with Manchester United in the final month of the summer market. Ozil left Real Madrid to sign for Arsenal on deadline day.
But father, Mustafa, revealed an agent, without authorisation, approached United on August 7 to open negotiations.
"I never thought it was possible. I cannot believe what some questionable people dare to do. Someone wanted to get in touch with Manchester in my name and also signed with my name. It is no trivial offense. We will get to the bottom of it," Ozil Snr told Express.
