The father of Cesc Fabregas admits the Arsenal captain wants a move to Barcelona. Barca have confirmed they were in contact with the Gunners yesterday, though no offer had been tabled.

Speaking to Radio Marca, Francesc Fabregas Snr, said: "Negotiations between Arsenal and Barcelona will be very long.

"Cesc is now concentrated on the national team, but he wants the closure of the signing soon.

"I'm not sure how this will end, but I think they must respect the decision and will of the player.

"Cesc has always worked well with Arsene Wenger, and we are thankful to Arsenal because they made our son a man, but we just want this to end soon."
