Former PSV Eindhoven defender Manuel da Costa is delighted with his surprise move to Fiorentina.

Fiorentina beat some of Europe's biggest clubs to land the Portugal international, who said: "I chose Fiorentina because it is the club that showed the most interest in me. I also chose Italy because the league is important.

"The director and the president wanted me. I am ready to play and find my place.

"I've come to grow and grow with Fiorentina. My characteristics? I am right-sided and pretty good with my head, aggression and power are my characteristics. I'm a defender, but often I also look to get forward and to score."
