D'Apuzzo at ease after Newcastle Jets receive help

Newcastle Jets left-back Adam D'Apuzzo has spoken of the relief that has swept through the playing group after Football Federation Australia stepped in to assist the club.

The Jets are struggling financially, inciting fears that they may have been forced to fold, but the FFA have giving some aid which will allow club owner Con Constantine time to get his affairs in order.

D'Apuzzo said it was good to know that the club was receiving assistance although he admitted it was not an ideal situation.

"Our minds are at ease and we can now concentrate on the weekend," D'Apuzzo told the Newcastle Herald.

"It's a little unfortunate that it's not a long-term solution, but we are happy.

"It's better than nothing, but we want to see where it goes from here.

"The boys who have moved here from overseas can at least buy some furniture and others can meet loan repayments."

The Jets showed some spirit and fight on Sunday to grab a scoreless draw with the Brisbane Roar but will be looking to go one better when they take on co-league leaders Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium on Saturday night.
