Newcastle Jets coach Branko Culina has urged his side to open their account for the season by defeating Perth Glory this Friday night.
The Jets have kicked off their 2010/11 campaign with three draws and two losses in their five outings and Culina wants to push aside all the off-field issues the clubs is experiencing and make things come alive on the pitch.
"At the moment it is giving people the opportunity to use it as an excuse," Culina said of the financial worries the Jets currently have.
"We want to get it sorted out. We are planning for Perth on Friday, Gold Coast next Wednesday and then Melbourne [on Saturday].
"That is our plan, that is what we are aiming for and looking forward to."
Culina admitted he wasn't too thrilled with the results his side had taken so far and was looking for a marked improvement in the coming weeks, beginning with the Glory at home in Round 7.
"It would be ridiculous for me to say I'm happy with where we are. I'm not," he added.
