Russian club CSKA Moscow face being sensationally thrown out of the European Champions League after two players tested positive to banned substances.
Despite finishing second in Group B, CSKA may be disqualified from Europe after defenders Alexei Berezutsky and Sergei Ignashevich were temporarily suspended from all games for testing positive to a banned stimulant.
The players were tested at Old Trafford on November 3 after their 3-3 draw with Manchester United but the Russian club claim it was a simple clerical error in which the players were given Sudafed whilst suffering from head colds only for the medical staff to fail including the medication on a list given to UEFA.
