Crystal Palace are winning the battle to land released Chelsea captain Gary Cahill.
The Sun says Palace boss Roy Hodgson is winning the race to sign his old England star Cahill on a two-year deal.
Hodgson is determined to nab the former Three Lions star, who is a free agent after his release from Chelsea.
The centre- half, 33, is keen to stay near his family base in London and hopes to land a lucrative £75,000-a-week deal.
Palace have been quiet in the market so far but Cahill's capture would be a coup as they try to strengthen their squad without spending fortunes.
