Stoke City striker Peter Crouch has paid tribute to Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard announced his retirement from England this week.
"It was probably the right decision," Crouch told The Sentinel. "He's got over a hundred caps and never let his country down.
"I think he's looking after his body because it does take its toll.
"I've been lucky enough to play with a lot of great players, but he's been the greatest bar none.
"In his prime, he could win games on his own. He could play in any position on the field and still be the best player on the pitch."
