Crouch defends Spurs boss Redknapp after Bent rap

Peter Crouch has jumped to the defence of his Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp.

The Sunday Express says the beanpole striker rallied to defend his boss after the man he replaced, Darren Bent, blew his lid at the way he was treated by Redknapp.

That attack came as questions were raised over the way the Spurs manager has frozen out £15million midfield man David Bentley and ex-Barcelona ace Giovani Dos Santos - who he hasn't picked once.

But Crouch, who is desperate to make England's World Cup squad, leapt to defend his manager.

"He's a good manager and he's always got fantastic results," he said. "Now he's at a bigger club he can show what he's capable of. If anyone can break into that top four, we can."
