Crouch assures Adams he's sticking with Portsmouth

Peter Crouch is prepared to stay with Portsmouth.

The Mirror says Crouch has assured Tony Adams he is willing to see out the season at Portsmouth - despite the loss of strike partner Jermain Defoe.

England hitman Crouch, 27, only went to Pompey last summer from Liverpool to play for Harry Redknapp alongside Defoe in attack. And the pair have both since quit Fratton Park for Premier League rivals Tottenham - leaving Adams at the helm.

But £10million-rated Crouch, on £70,000-a-week, insists he is happy to complete at least this campaign on the South Coast despite interest from his former club Aston Villa.
