Crewe Alexandra confident Liverpool winger Wilson can make League One impact

Crewe Alexandra first-team coach James Collins is hopeful that on-loan Liverpool winger Harry Wilson can make a positive impact at the club.

Wilson joined Crewe in late August on a loan deal until January and the 18-year-old is primed to make his debut for the League One side against Millwall on Saturday after scoring for the Welsh U21 side on Friday.

Collins is excited by the arrival of Wilson and has expressed his confidence that the teenager will be a great signing for Crewe.

Collins said: "I've spoken to Harry since he came back from scoring a goal for Wales and he is itching to make a difference for us. He is a terrific player with a lot of talent and if can add that quality to what we already have then it would be a big help.

"Clubs may have been reluctant to take him on loan because he is looks a slight lad but he is actually strong and stocky and he has the ability to dodge and avoid trouble.

"His goals and assists record at Liverpool is excellent and they wanted to see if he can make that initial step up into competitive football. I'm sure he will show what we can do and show that he has the ability to play in the league."
