League One club Coventry City have expressed their delight at extending the loan deal for Newcastle United midfielder Gael Bigirimana until the end of the season.

The 22-year old joined the Sky Blues on a loan deal in November and impressed during his five appearances for the club.

City boss Tony Mowbray told the club's official website: "We've been really impressed with Gael since he joined the club on loan.

"Gael has excellent technical ability and has really settled into the environment since coming back, providing us with another crucial option in midfield.

"We're delighted we've been able to sign him on loan until the end of the season and I'm sure he'll have a positive impact on the rest of the season."
