Coventry chairman Ray Ranson has denied rumours Steve Cotterill had been offered the manager's job prior to Aidy Boothroyd's appointment. The Notts County boss met with Ranson for talks this week but was not offered the job as reports had suggested.
The Sky Blues instead opted for Boothroyd on a three-year deal after agreeing a compensation package with his former employers Colchester.
Ranson insists Boothroyd was the only man to be offered the chance to take the reins at the Ricoh Arena.
He said: "I have seen some comments from Steve which is disappointing to say the least. There was only one manager [Boothroyd] who was offered the job."
