Coventry City chairman Ray Ranson is confident of a deal for Sunderland fullback Stephen Wright.

Wright, who is a free agent following his release by Sunderland, is in the Sky Blues squad for Tuesday evening's pre-season friendly at Livingston.

Ranson told the Telegraph: "We have put a proposal to him and he was on the bus going to Scotland, so I would like to think it will get done this week."
