Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he may seek a short-term defensive signing this month.
Wenger said he is "not close" to signing a new centre-half, but admitted he is looking to bring someone in on a "short-term basis".
The Frenchman appeared to rule out a big name signing this month by adding: "It would be an insurance policy, more than a need."
An obvious candidate is Newcastle United veteran Sol Campbell, though Millwall's Danny Shittu has been in excellent form and comes off contract this month.
