Newcastle Jets defender Angelo Costanzo will be using his experience in the Asian Champions League against Pohang Steelers next week. Costanzo has already been a part of Asia's premier club competition twice before with Adelaide United and will now lead an inexperienced Jets defence in Korea on Wednesday.
"I look forward to playing in big games, and this is a big game for the club and for Australian football," Costanzo told The Herald.
"It's going to be an inexperienced backline, especially with either Jobey (Jobe Wheelhouse) or Kanta (Ben Kantarovski) coming in, but I'm looking forward to the challenge.
"This is my third Asian Champions League campaign, I did it with Adelaide, but it was different with a two-legged round [of 16], where this is a one-off away from home."
Costanzo believes the Jets are good enough to progress to the next round and will be playing an aggressive brand against the Steelers.
"We like to move the ball around, and if we can do that and be aggressive, the Asians don't like it when you're aggressive," he added.
"I don't mean anything stupid, but I think the team is capable of going through to the next round."
