ChampionshipIpswich Town cannot afford to bring Celtic striker Daryl Murphy to Portman Road permanently, according to boss Paul Jewell.
Jewell told BBC Radio Suffolk:
"He's got a year left on his contract on good wages."
The 29-year-old's performances this season had urged Jewell to say he would like to sign the former Sunderland forward, but that now looks unlikely. Celtic helping us out but for us to go again they would want a transfer fee - and we just haven't got that amount of money." explained Jewell. "I don't think that will happen although we would have liked to have kept Daryl.
