Southampton midfielder Jack Cork is urging the board to stick with manager Nigel Adkins.
Cork helped Southampton beat fellow strugglers QPR last weekend before the axe fell on Mark Hughes.
And in the same week his old London club Chelsea ruthlessly sacked Roberto Di Matteo. But Cork insists Adkins should not be under pressure.
He said: "It would be a bit harsh if we did not give our manager a chance at this level. The last couple of results have gone quite well and, hopefully, he will get a little bit more time to show what he can do.
"I don't know what it is like at other clubs but the manager is always there to talk to if you have a problem and he's always got a positive attitude."
