Cork City manager Alan Mathews has revealed Sunderland's interest in youngster David Meyler.

"Sunderland have already spoken to me in relation to David and I would imagine that they will follow that up," he said.

"Several other Premier League clubs have enquired about his availability and they're monitoring the situation."
